But I thought I'd update a bit. I just finished and sent off Log Cabin socks to my mom as an early birthday present and have just felt eyes and a nose to add to a teddy bear from D. Bliss's Simply Baby book before I send it to my sister since I'm now an AUNT! Yup, for the first time to a baby boy. I'm hoping to spend some time with her in November since she lives a few states over.
On the needles and being worked on: a Christmas Stocking in mostly Cascade 220 and some leftover bits for a knitting class. On the 17th I start another on Norwegian mittens which I'm really excited for since I'm 1/4 Norwegian.
Notable in the "queue": Rainbow socks from magknits, My-so-called scarf, Ron's Ragg Raglan from Charmed Knits, and Cherie Amour from the latest knitty. I don't have yarn for any of them yet, though I might be persuaded into Cherry Tree Hill for the socks on Sunday at my knitting class! I have an email into artsygal (via Ravelry) to see if she's dyeing any more of the Aurora borealis colorway since that by far is my favorite sock yarn but I haven't heard back yet.
I'm still trying to figure out some possible knitted Xmas gifts for people that are quick and not hugely expensive. Ditto on the cost for cute stitchmarkers and knitting needle cases or knitting bags - I've seen some super cute ones but I want to try and make my own to save some money.
And good news, it is cold enough now (like highs of 52F) for the dog to be back in cuddle-mode so I get to snuggle with a warm Cavalier at night now. :) Ahhhhhhhh.
